JOHN NAGLE
 In Memorial
  1943-2010

Bio:John came from an artistic family. His family did many amateur plays for the church the family attended before John was born. His brother earned his BA in theater, as did his former wife. His son, John VI earned his Master's Degree in Shakespearean Theatre and his daughter earned her MFA in Photography and teaches photography for Niagara University in Buffalo, NY.
In 1954, eleven-year-old John Nagle, newly purchased Kodak Brownie in hand, started a 50-year journey into the world of photography. John joined the Tidewater Gallery in 2004. Only twice before he has exhibited his photographs in small town Art-In-The-Park shows, taking decond place in his first show. He has worked with film, 8mm, VHS, and digital formats.

"I like to tell a story with my pictures" John said. His pictures are mostly of nature and things, rather than people. John's photographs are of simple scenes with complex messages. Whether it is his historical "Lions 21, Christians 3" photograph, his shocking digial picture "Psychodelic Poppey" or the lonely views of his Mother's first outing after the death of his Father after 49 years of marriage, his images are meant to move the viewer to understanding an emotion.
